Whether you would like to shed a few pounds, gain a few pounds or learn how to maintain a healthy weight, my guiding principle with respect to weight management is SET POINT. Set point theory of metabolism states that just as you were genetically determined to be a certain height and to have a certain eye color, hair color etc., so you were also genetically programmed to be healthiest at a certain body weight. One’s Set Point is usually a narrow range, not an exact number. You can gain weight above your set point, and lose weight below your set point, however, this requires one to deviate from normal healthy eating. Our commitment to you is to help you reach your genetically pre-determined body weight, or, your set point. We will accomplish this whether you are genetically a stocky, robust body type or a petite body type.
